The safety touch edge, also known as the resistance-rebound rubber strip or safety edge switch, is a rubber strip-shaped pressure-sensitive switch. The safety edge and safety buffer are flexible and bendable strip-shaped objects that can be fixed on the edges of moving parts with squeezing and shearing hazards, such as machine tool workbenches and electric doors.

1. When moving parts equipped with safety edges or safety buffers collide with the operator (or the operator collides with the moving parts), these flexible safety edges will be compressed and send a signal to the power source to stop the movement of these parts.

2.Safety edges or safety buffers can be classified as "belt" devices. Safety edges or safety buffers do not restrict access but merely "sense" it. Safety edges and safety buffers rely entirely on their sensing and switching capabilities to provide safety protection, so reliable control of the control circuit of safety edges or safety buffers is very important. Usually, safety edges or safety buffers are only used on machines where the moving parts can stop immediately after the power is removed.

3. The safety edge or safety buffer, together with the controller, constitutes a flexible and versatile emergency stop system. In situations where this system is used, the machine operator or installer must be able to easily and conveniently stop the driving device.

4. A complete safety edge comprises an aluminum rail - safety contact, and a safety contact strip. The special shape of the safety edge (rubber side) protects the safety contact strip from damage and allows the impact angle of the safety edge to exceed 90 degrees.

5. The working principle of the safety buffer is similar to that of the safety edge, but there are some structural differences. It has an additional foam rubber attachment covered with polyurethane, which is used to protect other objects in contact with it.
